While living in Barre, Vermont might not seem to be a conducive environment to infusing exercise into one' s lifestyle, however, the township is home to a number and variety exercise studios.
One's exercise of choice, in fact, might certainly be found in the energetic city, with activities ranging from dance, marital arts, yoga, fitness centers and even ice skating, most within a walk down North Main Street.
Villari's Martial Arts Centers, located on Elm Street, has classes ranging from beginner to advanced Karate for children and adults. . For those who prefer Muay Thai or Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Granite City MMA is a short distance out of town.

First in Fitness offers year round swimming and tennis in addition to their state of the art gymnasium. For a free weight, cardiovascular and nautilus workout visit Body Tech Health and Fitness Club on Elm Street or The Gym for Women, for women only, that has a full gymnasium available complete with free weights, nautilus, and cardiovascular equipment. Jazzercise on South Main Street combines a cardiovascular workout with dance.
Many area facilities also include classes for kids. Joni's School of Dance, Shooting Star Dance Studio, Sunrise Gymnastics, and Granite City MMA have classes specifically designed for children that will not only provides exercise but also teach a skill.
